Mr. John Leombruno, B.Sc.Pharm, MBA, PhD
Chief Executive Officer
Prior to creating the Patient Services and PharmaSolutions divisions of GMD, Dr. Leombruno had responsibility and experience in many areas of the pharmaceutical industry including market access, medical information, pharmacovigilance, medical affairs and business development. He has held roles ranging from Manager, Market Access to Director, Business Development and Vice President, Medical Affairs.

Dr. Leombruno has been intimately involved in the development and implementation of RiskMAPs, Patient Assistance Programs, and Specialty Drug Marketing. Additionally, he has assisted in the incubation of several Canadian Pharmaceutical companies.

Formally trained as a Pharmacist, Dr. Leombruno has earned his MBA, and a PhD in Pharmacoepidemiology. His key research interests include the design and analysis of clinical trials, the use of administrative databases, and statistical research into various data pooling methods for estimating drug safety.

Ms. Anne-Marie Martinak, CPA, CGA, MBA
Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Martinak is the CFO of GMD and has over 15 years of accounting experience in the Canadian medical industry. She joined Cardinal Health Canada in 1998 and became very familiar with financial systems, cash management, inventory optimization, process improvement, internal control systems, costing models, project accounting, Canadian tax regulations and cross-border transaction implications.

In addition to practical experience, Ms. Martinak has earned her CPA, CGA (2000) and MBA (2014). This vast depth and breadth of knowledge will provide support and guidance to the GMD management team as they manage through extensive growth in customer volume and programs.

Mr. Kabeer Baig, B.Sc.Pharm, R.Ph., MBA
President, Specialty Operations
With over 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Mr. Baig is directly involved in business development for specialty services, financial planning, budgeting, staffing, and overseeing all specialty pharmacy operations.

Mr. Baig’s previous employers include Mckesson Canada, Patient Direct Specialty Care Pharmacy, and the University Health Network, where he held multiple roles in management. Over the course of his professional career, he has developed expertise with the pharmaceutical dispensing of biologic response modifiers. As such, Mr. Baig actively maintains his exposure to the issues facing pharmacists and stays aware of their changing needs and practices.

Mr. Baig obtained his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Toronto in 1995 and his Masters of Business Administration degree from Queen’s University in 2003.

Mr. Sam Tarantino, B.Sc., M.Sc.
Vice President, Business Development
Mr. Tarantino is an integral part of the Business Development team at GMD. Previously the General Manager & Director of Regulatory and Quality Operations, he has been working in Regulatory Affairs and Quality Operations since 1998. He has diverse experience with medical devices, biologics, pharmaceuticals and radiopharmaceuticals, in various therapeutic areas.

Mr. Tarantino is an expert in developing and implementing closed distribution strategies for orphan and specialty drugs in Canada. He completed his M.Sc. degree at the University of Wales, UK, where his research assessed the effectiveness of orphan drug policy in Canada versus international benchmarks. He graduated with honors from the University of Toronto with a degree in Science.

Aside from his personal successes, Mr. Tarantino also helps students as a career mentor with the University of Toronto Career Centre and the Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs and Quality Operations (RAQC) program at Seneca College.

Mr. Ray Dubé, B.Sc.
CEO Emeritus
Mr. Dubé is the original founder of GMD. Prior to its establishment, Mr. Dubé held several key management positions at multiple Canadian firms such as Allergan Canada Inc. and Serono Canada. Mr. Dubé’s positions included Director of Sales, and Director of Government Affairs (the precursor to Market Access Manager) for Serono. Mr. Dubé was Director of Sales in Allergan’s surgical division.

Mr. Dubé had started several other specialty pharmaceutical companies during his career, including the Patient Direct Group, VDI Healthcare Inc. and PharmaCan Ltd. Much like GMD, these firms focused on specific niche solutions for the high-value cold chain drug and medical device industry in Canada.

Mr. Dubé now has over 30 years of direct experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He uses this knowledge to provide insight on business development, budgeting, sales, marketing, and other functional areas of GMD.

Mr. Steve Duffield, BA
Executive Consultant
Mr. Duffield, the former president of GMD, has over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. In his tenure, Mr. Duffield held many management positions in the pharmaceutical and consumer segments with Schering Canada. While he was with Schering, he contributed to the launch of Claritin, which became the number one brand in the Canadian over-the-counter segment.

Mr. Duffield has held various positions in industry associations. He was an active member of the CPDM (Canadian Association of Pharmaceutical Distribution Management) and the CACDS (Canadian Association of Chain Drug Stores) involved in both their planning committees. Along with the creation of the Patient Direct Group, Mr. Duffield is the founder of Health Check Inc., a Canadian consumer products company.
